Hi,
I know I have to send my laptop in for an estimate to get an accurate cost estimate, but I was wondering if anyone would have a general idea. I need my internal fan replaced, because it's no longer working. I also need the video output fixed. It just stopped working for no reason. I closed the lid, and when I opened it, there's no picture. Thank god I have jaws, but I'd still like to get that fixed. So if anyone has any idea about how much that would cost, could you please let me know? Thanks.
Jen
I'm only going to give you a ruff estimate here, as its hard to tell the extent of the damage that has occured with your discription:
Fan $10, assuming that its not a old machine that requires a spasific fan like some of the p3's did and that the fan dieing hasn't caused anything to overheat.
I'm guessing that your screens bust, so about dunno, er perhaps be thinking about $200 for that?
Then you have to take into account the time needed for the repare to take place.
I've had to be really vague, because i had to convert into $s and also i'm obveously in the uk, so shops might be a bit more fairer where you are. Also i dunno anything about your lappy, so its hard to say.
I'm assuming that its out've worranty which kinda says that its a bit old - meh might have a problem sourcing some of the parts, will have to wait and see.
keep us posted.
ok thank you for responding. <smile>
Jen, I don't know where the closest one to you is, but try Computer Renaissance. There's also a store that brok from them in Timmonium called computer guys dot biz, or something like that. I had them build this computer, and I've had nothing but good luck with it. Also, they treat you like a human being with a brain unlike many computer stores. If you need that number, let me know and I'll see if I can find it.
